assigned the duty of disinfecting the whole of the Taipingshan district, together with. a number of houses in other localities. This work was volentery

on my part, and I received a medal and letter of thanks from the Community of Stong ng.

Similar voluntary work was undertak in 1898, and in 1899, when each occasion the Kowloon district and its villages was given

me to cleanse, and to disinfect whore necessary. In 1901 also, the Central district of the ghong

given me to thoroughly cleanse, on each of these last three occasions, I received the afecial thanks of the lanilang Board.

5. It is with much reluctance that attention has been drawn to the above services, but I venture to ank whether in accordance with sac. 4 of the Pension trinute, recently received from thongkong, such services may
